Job summary

Based in Cardiff, Hawk Hiring LTD is recruiting a Vehicle Technician/Car Mechanic for a modern, independent-style workshop. You'll join a respected team with state-of-the-art diagnostic tooling and a No Weekends policy, earning £35,000–£40,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or City & Guilds) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Proven workshop experience as a Vehicle Technician or Car Mechanic.
• F-Gas certification is preferred (or interested in obtaining it).
• Full UK driving licence is essential; MOT Tester licence preferred but not required.
• Must possess own hand tools for daily repair and servicing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, safety inspections and general mechanical repairs across a wide variety of makes and models.
• Utilize high-spec diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and resolve faults.
• Deliver high-quality first-time fix results while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Work productively to keep the workshop running smoothly in a well-organized environment.
• Collaborate with fellow mechanics to maintain a clean, safe, and friendly workshop.

Your Role

Working as a core member of our technical team in Cardiff, you will:

What You Need

• Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair. Proven workshop experience as a Vehicle Technician or Car Mechanic. F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
• Licensing: Full UK driving licence is essential. An active MOT Tester licence is preferred but not required.
• Equipment & Mindset: Must possess your own hand tools for daily repair and servicing tasks. Motivated, dedicated, and highly organized professional with a strong team mindset and keen attention to detail.
