Job summary

Hawk Hiring LTD in Newport is seeking a time-served Vehicle Technician/Car Mechanic to join a modern, well-equipped garage. You’ll perform high-level mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and MOT-related tasks in a supportive environment.

The role operates Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30 with zero weekend shifts, offering stability and a clear progression path. A strong emphasis is placed on accuracy and teamwork using top diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or time-served equivalent.
• F-Gas certification preferred or interest in obtaining it.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Active MOT Tester licence preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Handle mechanical repairs, engine work, servicing, and preventative maintenance.
• Lead on diagnostics, tuning, and fault-finding with on-site tools.
• Manage MOT failure diagnosis and rectifications.
• Use tablet-based systems to manage digital job cards and logs.
• Collaborate with a close-knit technical team to keep the workshop operating smoothly.
