Job summary

Hawk Hiring LTD seeks an experienced Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join a well‑established independent workshop in Chesham. You will work in a clean, modern environment with weekends kept free for a stable Monday–Friday schedule.

You will service vehicles, perform brake/ clutch work, timing belts, and use diagnostic equipment to resolve faults while maintaining high safety and quality standards. A UK driving licence is essential and hand tools are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent).
• F-Gas certification preferred.
• Full UK driving licence essential; MOT tester licence preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, brake overhauls, clutch replacements, timing belts and general maintenance.
• Utilise modern diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and engine management faults.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards to deliver first-time fix results and efficient workshop flow.
• Collaborate with workshop colleagues to ensure smooth job flow.

Your Role

As a vital member of our technical team, you will:

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, brake overhauls, clutch replacements, timing belts, and general mechanical maintenance.
• Utilize modern diagnostic equipment to systematically troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and engine management faults.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards to deliver clean "first-time fix" results and maintain workshop efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with workshop colleagues to ensure smooth job flow and uphold our trusted reputation.

What You Need

• Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair. Proven experience working in a professional garage setting. F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
• Licensing: Full UK driving licence is essential. An active MOT Tester licence (Class 4/7) is preferred but not required.
• Equipment & Mindset: Must possess your own hand tools for daily workshop tasks. Strong problem-solving mindset, high attention to detail, and a reliable work ethic.
