Job summary

Hawk Hiring seeks a Vehicle Technician/Car Mechanic for a busy independent service and repair centre near Tewkesbury. You will perform routine servicing, safety inspections, and repairs across many makes/models, using up-to-date diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and fix faults.

The role emphasizes high-quality first-time fixes, a positive team environment, and a weekday schedule (Mon-Fri, 08:00-17:00) with no weekend shifts. Tools provided, training offered.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or City & Guilds) with time-served experience.
• Full UK driving licence; MOT tester licence preferred.
• Must own your own hand tools for daily repair tasks.
• F-Gas certification preferred or interest in obtaining it.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, safety inspections, and component replacements across a wide range of makes and models.

Your Role

As a vital Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our active workshop near Tewkesbury, you will:

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, safety inspections, component replacements, and general mechanical repairs across a wide variety of makes and models.
• Utilize up-to-date diagnostic tools and scanners to efficiently troubleshoot technical, electrical, and mechanical faults as a Diagnostic Specialist.
• Deliver high-quality "first-time fix" results to maintain our trusted regional reputation.
• Work productively alongside a skilled, down-to-earth technical team to keep the workshop operating safely and smoothly.

What You Need

• Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or City & Guilds / equivalent). Time-served technicians without formal certificates are also highly considered over formal qualifications. Proven track record in a professional workshop setting. F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
• Licensing: A full UK driving licence is essential. An active MOT Tester licence is preferred but not required.
• Equipment: Must possess your own hand tools to manage daily repair and diagnostic tasks effectively.
• Key Strengths: A reliable, self-motivated professional with great attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a positive team player attitude.
