Job summary

Thames Engine LTD is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to service and repair a wide range of makes and models in a busy West Bromwich workshop. You will diagnose faults, replace worn parts, road-test vehicles, and record work and parts used with care.

The role requires at least 3 years of hands-on experience, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work safely within a friendly, small team environment. NVQ Level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a vehicle technician or mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of engine, transmission, braking, steering and suspension systems.
• Proficiency using diagnostic tools and interpreting fault codes.
• Full valid UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle servicing and repairs across a wide range of makes and models.
• Carry out diagnostic checks to identify mechanical faults.
• Replace worn or faulty parts (brakes, clutches, suspension, exhausts, etc.).
• Road-test vehicles before and after repair.
• Accurately record work carried out and parts used.
• Maintain strict adherence to workshop health and safety standards.
• Communicate clearly with customers on vehicle issues when needed.
