Job summary

Corby Independent Garage in Corby is seeking a hands-on Vehicle Technician to join a busy, family-run service and repair hub. You will work across all makes and models using multi-brand diagnostic tools and deliver high-quality repairs in a supportive workshop.

The role requires a time-served background, Level 3 NVQ/IMI, and a full UK driving licence. In return, you’ll enjoy a competitive salary (£35,000–£45,000 DOE), a pension, 20 days leave, and on-site parking in a modern facility.

Qualifications

• Time-served mechanic with solid confidence in heavy mechanical work and diagnostic fault isolation.
• Level 3 NVQ / IMI in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform deep mechanical procedures including timing chains/belts, clutch kits, engine overhauls and gearbox replacements.
• Utilise multi-brand diagnostic tools to isolate and fix mechanical, software and electrical faults.
• Complete servicing, safety inspections, brake/suspension overhauls and pre-MOT health checks.
• Write detailed repair notes on job sheets and keep front-desk staff informed on timelines.
• Keep work bays clean, organized and compliant with health & safety guidelines.
