Job summary

Perfect Placement represents a reputable independent garage in Kettering seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician for a full-time, permanent role. Expect a Monday to Friday schedule, 8:30am–5:30pm, with no weekend work and clear prospects for professional development including MOT qualifications.

You will service and repair a wide range of vehicles, diagnose faults with diagnostic equipment, and perform MOT testing where qualified.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.
• Proven ability to carry out servicing, repairs, and diagnostics.
• Experience working on brakes, tyres, cambelts, clutch replacements, and MOT repairs.
• Additional skills in air conditioning and welding are desirable.
• Current Class 4 MOT Tester licence is highly desirable; DVSA certification preferred.
• Relevant qualifications such as C&G or NVQ Level 2/3 in Motor Vehicle Technology are preferred, though demonstrated experience will be considered.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform MOT testing and related repairs where qualified.
• Replace brakes, tyres, cambelts, clutches, and perform engine repairs.
• Undertake gearbox replacements and associated repairs.
• Diagnose and repair air conditioning systems, including re-gassing.
• Carry out welding and general mechanical repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
• Complete accurate documentation and clearly communicate work requirements.
