Job summary

Allen Motor Group in Basildon is currently recruiting a Vehicle Technician to join our Ford dealership. This full-time role is 45 hours a week and pays £32,429, reporting to the Aftersales Manager.

We offer a guaranteed minimum earnings for the first three months of £3,333 per month (£40,000 per year gross) and a track record of strong earnings, with average technicians earning £42,500 and higher performers £58,000.

Qualifications

• Relevant formal qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3) as a minimum.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience with inspection, repair and servicing motor vehicles.
• MOT Tester qualification beneficial.
• Strong verbal and written English skills.
• Experience in franchised dealership preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and diagnostic service to meet customer satisfaction targets.
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and manufacturer training.
• Uphold quality standards and vehicle health check processes.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and company procedures.

Our average Vehicle Technician earnings were £42,500 last year, with our higher performing technicians earning on average £58,000!

As a vehicle technician you’ll have some key tasks and activities within your area of responsibility:

• Provide technical and diagnostic service ensuring customer satisfaction and productivity targets are met and exceeded
• Maintain the highest level of technical knowledge and ensure compliance with manufacturer training
• Uphold company and manufacturer quality standards
• Ensure 100% compliance with vehicle health check processes

Required Skills & Experience

To be considered for the position you will need to possess a relevant formal qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3) as a minimum. We are looking for individuals who possess the following attributes & skills:

• A full UK driving licence
• Experience of inspection, repair and servicing motor vehicles
• MOT Tester qualification would be highly beneficial
• Fantastic verbal and written English skills
• Previous experience working in a franchised dealership (preferred but not essential)
