HP4 Recruitment Ltd, on behalf of a leading UK vehicle hire and fleet management client, is seeking skilled Vehicle Technicians to service and repair vans and LCVs. Based in Bolton, you will join a growing team with structured hours and clear career progression.

The role focuses on maintenance, diagnostics, and safe operation of a wide customer fleet. Ideal candidates hold Level 3 NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, have strong diagnostic skills, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Qualified vehicle technician with a Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair preferred.
• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / LCV Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on vans and LCVs.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Prepare MOTs and perform inspections.
• Ensure work meets factory guidelines and quality.
• Complete service records and paperwork.
• Work efficiently to meet workshop targets.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Salary: £36,720 Basic Salary (£43,160 OTE)

About the Role

Our client is one of the UK's leading vehicle hire and fleet management businesses, and they are currently looking for skilled Vehicle Technicians to join their growing team across multiple sites nationwide. This role will focus primarily on the maintenance, servicing, and repair of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and vans, ensuring fleet reliability and safety for a wide customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vans and LCVs
• Diagnose faults using the latest diagnostic equipment
• Complete MOT preparation and general inspections
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard in line with manufacturer guidelines
• Accurately complete job cards, service records, and compliance paperwork
• Work efficiently to meet productivity and workshop targets
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment

Requirements

• Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (preferred)
• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / LCV Technician
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills
• Experience working on vans or commercial vehicles (highly desirable)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
