Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Vehicle Technician for a busy main dealership in Stafford. You will service, repair and diagnose cars to manufacturer standards in a high-volume workshop with solid support from Service Advisors and clear progression.

The role offers a basic salary up to £36,000 with an uncapped bonus and paid overtime, realistic earnings of £45,000+ per year, plus a monthly £125 for MOT-qualified work and ongoing manufacturer training.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence.
• MOT Tester licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out vehicle servicing and routine maintenance
• Completing mechanical and electrical repairs to manufacturer standards
• Diagnosing faults using modern diagnostic equipment
• Completing repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
• Carrying out electronic vehicle health checks and identifying additional work
• Accurately recording work completed and updating relevant job documentation
• Working closely with Service Advisors and the wider workshop team
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with workshop procedures

Vehicle Technician – Role As a Vehicle Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
• MOT Tester licence advantageous but not essential
• Strong servicing, maintenance and repair skills
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding ability
• Ability to work efficiently within a busy workshop
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
• Full UK driving licence
