Job summary

Halfords is expanding its Garage Services team at Fusion centres across the UK. As a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, you’ll service and repair vehicles, undertake diagnostics and more complex tasks like clutch and timing belt work, with a base salary of £34,640 and an uncapped bonus scheme averaging £6,600 per year.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work and more complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair vehicles and perform replacement work.
• Carry out diagnostics including brakes, steering/suspension, and engine problems.
• Handle complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in electrics.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
