Durham, United Kingdom is home to a family-owned automotive retailer seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a modern, well-equipped workshop.

You will carry out servicing, diagnostics and repairs, perform MOT tests where qualified, and work with a supportive aftersales team. The role offers excellent training, progression, and a rewarding environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Service Technician or Motor Vehicle Mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Full UK Driving Licence
• MOT Tester qualification advantageous but not essential
• Salary: £34-45k Basic depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs to a high standard
• Diagnosing vehicle faults using the latest diagnostic equipment
• Completing vehicle health checks and identifying additional repair requirements
• Performing MOT tests (where qualified)
• Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and within agreed timescales
• Maintaining accurate workshop records and job documentation
• Identifying opportunities for additional work and advising the service team accordingly
• Working collaboratively with technicians, service advisors and management
• Following all health and safety procedures and manufacturer standards
