Job summary

MPJ Recruitment is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join an established automotive team with 40 retailers across Northern England and Southern Scotland. You will perform MOT testing, servicing, maintenance and diagnostics to DVSA standards, ensuring every vehicle leaves the workshop safe and roadworthy.

The role offers a competitive £30,000 - £52,000 DOE with an uncapped bonus, enhanced overtime rates and flexible working options.

Qualifications

• Experience as an MOT Technician, Vehicle Technician or Motor Vehicle Technician.
• Level 3 Qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Strong servicing, repair, diagnostic and vehicle testing knowledge.
• Able to work safely with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out MOT tests to DVSA standards.
• Completing servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnosing faults using specialist equipment.
• Reporting diagnostic findings to the Workshop Controller.
• Following manufacturer repair procedures and specifications.
• Removing and fitting vehicle components correctly.
• Completing vehicle health checks and identifying additional work.
• Preparing new and Approved Used vehicles for handover.
• Recording additional faults and repair requirements.
• Completing accurate job cards and recording parts and labour.
• Ensuring vehicles meet required safety and quality standards.
• Protecting customer vehicles throughout the repair process.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop.

Looking for an Vehicle Technician role that works around you?

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join an established automotive team who have 40 retailers across Northern England and Southern Scotland. This is a great opportunity which offers a competitive salary, uncapped bonus potential, enhanced overtime rates and a genuinely flexible approach to working hours.

The Role

• As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out MOT testing, servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs to a high standard, ensuring every vehicle leaves the workshop safe, compliant and in excellent condition.

Your responsibilities will include:

About You

We're looking for a technically capable, conscientious and reliable Vehicle Technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and putting safety first.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience working as an MOT Technician, Vehicle Technician or Motor Vehicle Technician.
• A valid Level 3 Qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Strong servicing, repair, diagnostic and vehicle testing knowledge.
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on safety and quality.
• The ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a wider workshop team.
• A professional approach to customer vehicles and workplace standards.
• Relevant automotive qualifications and manufacturer training are highly desirable.
