Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd, on behalf of a leading UK vehicle hire and fleet management company, is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join their team and service vans and light commercial vehicles. The role is based at the Blaydon site with a Monday–Friday schedule.

You will diagnose faults, perform servicing and repairs, complete MOT preparation, and ensure work adheres to manufacturer guidelines, while maintaining accurate records and a safe workspace.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (preferred).
• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / LCV Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience working on vans or commercial vehicles (highly desirable).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vans and light commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose faults using the latest diagnostic equipment.
• Complete MOT preparation and general inspections.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Accurately complete job cards, service records, and compliance paperwork.
• Work efficiently to meet productivity and workshop targets.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.

Salary: £37,639 Basic Salary (£43,639 OTE)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (with optional overtime)

About the Role

This role will focus primarily on the maintenance, servicing, and repair of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and vans, ensuring fleet reliability and safety for a wide customer base.
