Job summary

Hereford is seeking a Vehicle Technician to join a busy main dealership. The role offers a strong basic salary with potential to earn via over-performance bonus and overtime, plus a clear progression path through Senior and Master Technician levels.

Salary ranges from £35,000 to £45,800 basic, with additional bonus and overtime. 40-hour week, 8:30-5pm, with extensive training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Automotive qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent).
• Current experience as Vehicle Technician / Mechanic.
• MOT licence is desirable but not essential.
• Own set of tools and Full UK driving licence.
• Strong mechanical and fault-finding ability.
• Professional approach with a focus on quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and routine maintenance.
• Mechanical repairs across a range of vehicle systems.
• Fault finding and diagnostic work depending on experience.
• Complete more complex repairs at Senior/Diagnostic level.
• Carrying out vehicle inspections and identifying additional work.
• Ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain manufacturer and dealership standards.
• Work closely with the wider workshop and aftersales team.

Saturdays paid as x1.5 overtime 1 in 3 mornings

Vehicle Technician Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Carrying out servicing and routine maintenance
• Mechanical repairs across a range of vehicle systems
• Fault finding and diagnostic work depending on experience
• Completing more complex repairs at Senior/Diagnostic level
• Carrying out vehicle inspections and identifying additional work
• Ensuring repairs are completed accurately and efficiently
• Working towards strong first-time-fix standards
• Completing all relevant job cards and workshop documentation
• Maintaining manufacturer and dealership standards
• Working closely with the wider workshop and aftersales team

Vehicle Technician Requirements

• Level 3 Automotive qualification - City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent
• Current experience working as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
• Main dealer experience would be advantageous but isn't essential
• MOT licence is desirable but not essential
