Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician for a modern, well-equipped workshop in Mansfield. The role offers a generous salary package (£39,467 basic | £46,967 OTE), 25 days holiday + bank holidays, life assurance and pension, and a clear path for career development.

You will work 45 hours weekly with a weekend rota, handling complex fault-finding and EV work in a process-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent and a recognised diagnostic qualification.
• Experience as Vehicle Technician or Mechanic (brand-qualified applicants considered).
• Strong teamwork, communication and attention to detail.
• Proactive, organised approach for a busy workshop.
• Desire to progress ongoing manufacturer training for EV tech.

Responsibilities

• Carry out advanced diagnostic, warranty and repair work across a wide range of vehicles.
• Complete EV and hybrid tasks (if qualified), plus hydraulic and safety-critical repairs.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve difficult faults efficiently.
• Support Apprentice Technicians with guidance and development.
• Maintain high standards of safety, compliance and manufacturer process.
