Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic in New Southgate. The role offers an OTE £60,000 with uncapped earning potential and permanent, full-time employment in a leading automotive dealership group.

You will service, maintain and repair vehicles to manufacturer standards, perform inspections, diagnose faults and advise customers while maintaining high workmanship and service levels. A strong NVQ level 3 and full UK driving licence are required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out vehicle servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
• Following manufacturer repair procedures and technical guidelines.
• Conducting thorough vehicle inspections.
• Identifying worn, damaged or defective components.
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs accurately.
• Providing technical advice to customers where required.
• Maintaining excellent workmanship and customer service standards.
• Working closely with Service Advisors and Workshop Controllers.
• Supporting fellow Technicians and sharing technical knowledge.
• Meeting workshop efficiency and productivity targets.

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic, you will carry out high-quality servicing, maintenance and repairs, ensuring vehicles meet manufacturer standards and safety requirements.

About You

The ideal Vehicle Technician will have:

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent - essential
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge
• Good understanding of vehicle safety standards
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards
• Strong attention to detail
• Positive team-focused attitude
• A current MOT licence would be advantageous but is not essential
• Full UK driving licence
