Job description

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Ready to take your automotive career to the next level?

Are you a skilled Vehicle Technician looking for a role where your expertise is valued, your hard work is rewarded and your earning potential has no ceiling?

We're recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join an established franchised dealership in Guildford, offering an attractive OTE of up to £60,000, uncapped bonus potential and an excellent benefits package.

This is more than just another workshop role. You'll have the opportunity to work in a professional, well-equipped environment, benefit from ongoing manufacturer training and develop your skills within a business that offers genuine opportunities for long-term career progression.

Whether you're an experienced Vehicle Technician or a qualified Vehicle Mechanic ready for your next challenge, this could be the move you've been looking for.

What's in it for you?

Your skills deserve to be rewarded. In return for your expertise and commitment, you'll benefit from:

  • Up to £60,000 OTE with uncapped bonus potential, giving you the opportunity to boost your earnings.
  • 33 days' annual leave, including bank holidays, so you can enjoy more time away from the workshop.
  • Ongoing manufacturer training to keep your technical knowledge up to date and help you develop your career.
  • Modern workshop facilities and the opportunity to work to established manufacturer standards.
  • Company pension and life assurance, with the option to increase your cover.
  • Exclusive retail discounts and savings on new and used vehicles.
  • Discounted vehicle servicing to help keep your own car on the road.
  • Family-friendly policies designed to support you at every stage of life.
  • 24/7 healthcare and wellbeing support for you and your family.
  • Flexible working options where available.
  • Cycle-to-work scheme to support healthier, more sustainable commuting.
  • Company share purchase plan, giving you the opportunity to invest in the business.
  • Paid volunteering day to give something back to your local community.
  • Employee referral rewards for recommending great people.

You’ll also be joining an established dealership environment where teamwork, quality workmanship and professional development are important.

What will you be doing?

As a Vehicle Technician, you’ll play a key role in keeping vehicles safe, reliable and performing at their best.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out vehicle servicing, routine maintenance, inspections and mechanical repairs to manufacturer standards.
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, identifying their causes and completing effective repairs.
  • Inspecting vehicles and identifying worn, damaged or defective components.
  • Advising on any additional repairs required to maintain vehicle safety and reliability.
  • Ensuring all work is completed efficiently, accurately and in line with health and safety procedures.
  • Working closely with Service Advisors and Workshop Controllers to maintain an efficient workshop operation.
  • Maintaining accurate job records and delivering consistently high standards of workmanship.
  • Sharing technical knowledge with colleagues and contributing to a positive, supportive team environment.

You’ll have the opportunity to use your existing skills, continue developing your technical expertise and take pride in the quality of work you deliver.

What we're looking for

We’re keen to hear from technicians who take pride in their work, enjoy solving technical problems and want to build a successful career within the automotive industry.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic or Automotive Technician.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to diagnose and repair vehicle faults.
  • A good understanding of vehicle safety requirements and manufacturer repair procedures.
  • A quality-focused approach, with the ability to work efficiently and meet productivity targets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a practical, problem-solving mindset.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence.

An MOT Tester licence would be an advantage, but it's not essential.

Why make your next move?

If you’re looking for better earning potential, a strong benefits package and the chance to develop your skills with an established franchised dealership, this opportunity is well worth exploring.

With uncapped bonus potential, manufacturer training and a range of employee benefits, this is an opportunity to invest in your future while doing what you do best.
