Job summary

AutoSkills (United Kingdom) are seeking a Vehicle Technician for a full-time, permanent role in Christchurch. You will perform servicing, diagnostics and repairs to high standards, within a modern workshop, with no weekend work and clear opportunities for career progression.

Ideal candidates have NVQ Level 3 (or Level 2 with experience), a minimum of 2 years’ experience, strong diagnostic skills, own tools, and full UK driving license.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair preferred; Level 2 with experience also considered.
• At least 2 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician in automotive industry.
• Strong technical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
• Ownership of your own tools.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.
• Perform assembly operations to manufacturer standards.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines.
• Document all service and repair work accurately.
• Provide technical advice and support when required.
• Work with the workshop team to maximise productivity.
• Deliver high workmanship and customer satisfaction.

THE ROLE

As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to the highest standards while ensuring every vehicle is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with manufacturer requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair work
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently
• Performing assembly operations to manufacturer standards
• Ensuring compliance with manufacturer and health & safety guidelines
• Accurately documenting all completed service and repair work
• Providing technical advice and support where required
• Working collaboratively with the workshop team to maximise productivity
• Delivering exceptional workmanship and customer satisfaction

ABOUT YOU

We’re keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair preferred; Level 2 qualified technicians with relevant industry experience will also be considered
• At least 2 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic within the automotive industry
• Strong technical knowledge and diagnostic skills
• Ownership of your own tools and toolbox
• A positive attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence (subject to licence checks)
• The right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)

Alternative job titles may include: Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Technician, Service Technician, Diagnostic Technician or Car Mechanic.
