AutoSkills (United Kingdom) is seeking a Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic or Automotive Technician in Gillingham. The role offers a basic salary of £32,429 plus a performance-related bonus, with 45 hours per week and full-time permanent employment.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Experience carrying out vehicle inspections, servicing and repairs.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
• Commitment to high workmanship, safety and customer satisfaction.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Willingness to undertake ongoing technical training.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle servicing, inspections, maintenance and repairs to a high standard.
• Diagnose technical faults and identify appropriate repair solutions.
• Provide an efficient diagnostic and repair service while meeting productivity targets.
• Complete vehicle health checks in line with established procedures.
• Ensure all work meets required quality and safety standards.

• Keep accurate records of inspections, repairs and servicing.

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic or Automotive Technician, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and workshop efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out vehicle servicing, inspections, maintenance and mechanical repairs to a high standard.
• Diagnosing technical and mechanical faults and identifying appropriate repair solutions.

About You

To be considered for this Vehicle Technician position, you’ll ideally have:

• A City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Previous experience carrying out vehicle inspections, servicing and repairs.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and customer satisfaction.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• A proactive, reliable and team-focused attitude.
• The ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality.
• A willingness to undertake ongoing technical training and development.
• A full, valid UK driving licence.
• Access to own tools

An MOT Tester qualification would be highly advantageous but is not essential.

Previous experience working within a franchised dealership would be beneficial, although candidates with relevant experience from an independent garage are also encouraged to apply.
