Job summary

Halfords is hiring a Vehicle Technician in the Southampton area. You will service and repair vehicles, perform diagnostics, and handle complex tasks such as clutches and timing belts.

This full-time role offers a base salary £34,640–£38,100 with on-target earnings up to £44,700 and an uncapped monthly bonus averaging £6,600 per year, plus generous leave and store discounts.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Ability to carry out servicing, repair and diagnostic work.
• Experience with brakes, steering and suspension is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work on vehicles.
• Perform diagnostics and work on complex areas such as clutches and timing belts.
• Contribute to maintenance tasks and ensure quality workmanship.

Skills and Experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full driver’s licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
