Job summary

Halfords in Dundee is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to service and repair vehicles, including complex tasks like clutch and timing belt replacements. You will perform diagnostics in electrics, brakes, steering and suspension, using your Level 3 LV Maintenance and Repair skills or time‑served experience.

The role offers a base salary of £32,000 with an uncapped bonus scheme and potential on‑target earnings up to £38,700, plus extensive employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair OR time served experience.
• Must have a full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine).

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair work.
• Perform diagnostics in electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.
• Carry out clutch and timing belt replacements when required.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
