Job summary

Jaguar Land Rover in Solihull seeks a qualified Reliability/Maintainability specialist for BIW operations. You’ll deliver reliability growth, lead TPM activities on the shop floor, and liaise with maintenance teams to ensure Technical Availability meets targets.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, continuous improvement, and the development of predictive maintenance strategies for Body Construction Manufacturing systems. A proactive engineer with automotive know-how is ideal.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in Reliability and Maintainability in automotive manufacturing.

Job description

Working in Manufacturing at JLR, you'll be the hands-on expert who brings innovation to life. You'll collaborate with a team of expert technicians and problem-solvers and use cutting-edge tools, facilities, and processes engineered together to build era-defining vehicles that people across the world know and love. Your expertise will directly impact the shaping of modern luxury. Together, let's create the exceptional. This role will be part of the BIW Reliability Department, responsible for the delivery of Reliability growth across BIW operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the facility performs in line with installed design Technical Availability, developing and implementing Reliability growth plans, focusing on a level of continuous improvement to support Maintenance Operations. In your role you will be required to liaise with key stakeholders from within the JLR and OEM community.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Ensure that MTTR and MTBF data is available and analysed to deliver Technical Availability improvements in line with Maintenance KPI's
• Implement Reliability growth plans to support Technical Availability improvement
• Support the development of Condition Based Monitoring and Predictive strategies for Body Construction Manufacturing systems
• Ensure PM schedules are adhered to, analysed and backed up with R&M data
• Working with the AME and maintenance teams to develop, propose and implement R&M data collection and tracking systems
• Willingness to learn the TPM model and be part of the implementation journey
• Lead the TPM activities on the shopfloor with the production and maintenance teams
• Support with the planning and procurement of training for all BIW Maintenance & Stampings
• Knowledge of Maintenance Operations
• Knowledge of Reliability and Maintainability principles
• Led Technical improvement activities through Kaizen approaches
• Technical (mechanical and electrical) automotive engineering skills, ideally in a large, automated environment
• Demonstrable experience in the application of a logical approach to Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Demonstrable experience in Microsoft office (Excel, Powerpoint)
