Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician for a family-run independent garage in Cowbridge. You will diagnose, service, maintain and repair a wide range of vehicles, ensuring quality workmanship and health & safety standards.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £35,000, optional overtime, 20 days plus 8 bank holidays, pension, and opportunities for in-house training and career development within a long-established local business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a vehicle technician; time-served technicians are encouraged to apply.
• Competent diagnostics and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team within an independent service environment.
• Ideally, possess an active MOT licence, though this is non-essential.
• Relevant automotive qualifications (e.g., IMI/NVQ in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair) are advantageous but not essential if experience is strong.
• Resident within a reasonable commuting distance to Cowbridge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fault diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a diverse range of vehicles
• Complete relevant paperwork accurately in accordance with company standards
• Identify faults and report vehicle condition, safety, reliability, and performance issues to the Workshop Manager
• Adhere to quality workmanship standards and health & safety protocols at all times
• Assist with vehicle safety inspections, brake checks, and other standard automotive tasks
• Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment
• Support the team with ad-hoc duties as required, fostering a collaborative and professional workshop culture
