Job summary

Royal Mail in Chichester Workshop is seeking a qualified Vehicle Technician on a permanent contract. You will work a 39.5-hour week, including every 3rd Saturday, with a potential to earn up to £45k including overtime. The role offers a strong pension, training plan and PPE provision.

Join a large fleet operation and contribute to maintaining a diverse range of vehicles with modern tooling and a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Must be IMI Level 3 qualified (Light Vehicle) or equivalent.
• Proven Vehicle Technician experience with a variety of vehicles.
• Hold a full manual UK driving licence.
• Willing to work a flexible shift pattern and Saturdays every 1 in 3 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repair on vehicles, trailers and equipment.
• Use personal toolkit for routine maintenance of light goods vehicles.
• Access specialist tooling and shared equipment in modern workshops.

We’re recruiting an IMI Level 3 qualified mechanic at Chichester Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £45k including overtime.

Working Hours: Full time - 39.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks) - rotating shift pattern; week 1: 06:00 - 14:30, week 2: 09:30- 18:00.

You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays working 06:00 - 14:30 (with a weekday day off)

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light goods vehicles.
• You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A Bit About You

• Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 3 in Light vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
