Job summary

Jago Consultants are supporting a main car dealership in Cheltenham in their search for Vehicle Technicians to join the workshop team.

You will carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a variety of makes and models, diagnose faults with modern diagnostic equipment, perform DVSA testing if authorised, and ensure comprehensive, accurate documentation and road tests where required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Current MOT licence.
• Ability to diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, service, maintain and repair vehicles.
• Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical systems with diagnostic tools.
• Carrying out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised).
• Repair parts and resolve defects.
• Liaise with customers.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Support other technicians.
• Follow checklists and complete documentation.

Job description

My Client is a main car dealership based in Cheltenham and they are currently looking for Vehicle Technicians to join their team.

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle preparation, servicing, maintenance, and repair on a variety of makes and models
• Utilising your technical knowledge to inspect the engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using computer-based diagnostic equipment
• Carrying out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised)
• Repairing and replacing broken or defective parts to resolve vehicle defects
• Liaising with customers where necessary
• Road testing vehicles to check for faults and repairs
• Supporting other Technicians in the Workshop
• Following checklists to ensure all procedures are completed
• Completing all documentation to the required standard

• Must hold an NVQ level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent, or relevant experience
