Perfect Placement UK Ltd is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician in Colchester to join a reputable automotive service centre. You will work within a professional, customer-focused team dedicated to high standards of service and quality.

You will have the chance to expand skills in diagnostics, MOTs and EV work, with competitive salary (£34,000 base) and bonus potential including a £3,000 Productivity Bonus and Time Saved Bonus Scheme, plus ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience in motor industry ideal; training provided for EV work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles to ensure quality standards.
• Perform inspections and checks per manufacturer guidelines.
• Fit requested accessories with accuracy and professionalism.
• Carry out vehicle health checks and report needed repairs.
• Perform basic diagnostics and minor repairs on mechanical/electrical systems.
• Service vehicles per manufacturer instructions and customer requests.
• Complete warranty repairs per manufacturer protocols.
• Road test vehicles to verify faults are resolved.
• Ensure paperwork is completed accurately and to standard.

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician on behalf of our client, a reputable automotive service centre based in Colchester, Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified technician eager to develop their career within a professional and customer-focused environment. The successful Vehicle Technician will join a supportive team dedicated to high standards of service and quality.

• Competitive basic salary of £34,000 per annum with uncapped earning potential, including bonuses up to a total OTE of £40,780

• Full-time hours, Monday to Friday, plus 1 in 3 Saturdays

Duties of a Vehicle Technician:

• Conduct pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Perform inspections and checks in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
• Fit additional accessories requested by customers with accuracy and professionalism
• Carry out vehicle health checks and report any additional repairs needed
• Perform basic diagnostics and minor repairs on mechanical and electrical systems
• Service vehicles following manufacturer instructions and customer requests
• Complete warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer protocols
• Road test vehicles to ensure all faults have been rectified
• Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and to standard

Requirements of a Vehicle Technician:

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
• Relevant motor industry experience, either brand-specific or from independent garages
• Full UK driving licence
• Self-motivated with a supportive team attitude
• Eager to further develop technical skills
• Ability to work to high standards and deliver excellent customer service
• Previous experience with diagnostics, MOTs, and EV work is desirable, but training will be provided
