Auto Skills UK is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Vehicle Mechanic for a franchised dealership in Teesside. The role offers a competitive base salary up to £34,000 with realistic earnings up to £42,445 and an uncapped bonus scheme.

You will perform servicing, diagnostics and repairs to manufacturer standards, with training opportunities for Hybrid/EV and career progression in a professional workshop. Flexible working options include a fixed four-day week and Saturday overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
• Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance and vehicle repairs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Conduct vehicle health checks using the latest technology.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and recommend repairs.
• Complete repairs once authorised by customers and perform warranty work as required.
• Undertake road tests to ensure repairs are successful and maintain accurate records.
• Work closely with colleagues to maintain an efficient workshop operation.

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic or Automotive Technician, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Conducting comprehensive vehicle health checks using the latest technology.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and recommending appropriate repairs.
• Completing additional repairs once authorised by customers.
• Carrying out warranty repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Undertaking road tests to ensure repairs have been completed successfully.Maintaining accurate job cards and technical records.
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure an efficient workshop operation.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and customer service.

About You

To be considered for this Vehicle Technician position, you'll ideally have:

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or an equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic or Automotive Technician.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
• Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance and vehicle repairs.
• A commitment to high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A full, valid UK driving licence.

Previous franchised dealership experience is desirable but not essential. Manufacturer accreditation training will be provided. Diagnostic, MOT and Hybrid/EV experience would also be advantageous.
