Job summary

Royal Mail is recruiting a Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technician for Sheffield Workshop on a permanent contract. You will inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair a range of vehicles, trailers and equipment, using your own toolkit within a modern workshop.

Responsibilities include servicing diverse fleets with access to specialist tooling. A full manual UK licence (preferably HGV with trailer experience) and flexibility to a rotating shift pattern are required.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Level 3 mechanic (Light or Heavy vehicle).
• Own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Experience working on a wide range of vehicles (LCV/HGV).
• Valid UK driving licence (preferably with HGV/trailer experience).
• Flexible to service demands and shift rota.

• You'll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You'll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
• You'll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.
• Qualified mechanic: you're fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You've got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you're able to work on a flexible shift rota. You're always willing to support your team where necessary.

We're recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Sheffield Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £60k including overtime.

Working Hours: Full time

• 39.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks) Rotating shift pattern;week 1: 06:00
• 14:30 Monday to Fridayweek 2: 13:30
• 22:00 Monday to Fridayweek 3: 08:00
• 16:30 Wednesday to Sundayweek 4: 06:00
• 14:30 Monday to Friday week 5: 13:30
• 22:00 Monday to Fridayweek 6: 08:00
• 16:30 Tuesday
• Thursday and Saturday and Sunday
