Job summary

Motofix Group in Swindon is seeking a Vehicle Mechanic / Diagnostic Technician to service collision-damaged vehicles to manufacturer standards. You will diagnose faults, remove and refit engines, and calibrate ADAS while working on petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles.

You’ll also perform wheel alignment, post-repair diagnostics and quality inspections in a modern workshop. Ongoing manufacturer-led training is provided, with a supportive team and a performance-related bonus structure in

Qualifications

• Experience as a Vehicle Mechanic or Diagnostic Technician.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with modern diagnostic equipment.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
• Removing and refitting engines, gearboxes and drivetrain components.
• Repairing steering, suspension and braking systems.
• Carrying out wheel alignment and chassis geometry.
• Completing ADAS and post-repair diagnostic procedures.
• Working across petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles.
• Completing quality inspections and road tests.
• Following manufacturer repair methods and technical procedures.

About the Role

As a Vehicle Mechanic / Diagnostic Technician, you’ll play a key role in returning collision-damaged vehicles safely to manufacturer standards.

Your Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
• Removing and refitting engines, gearboxes and drivetrain components.
• Repairing steering, suspension and braking systems.
• Carrying out wheel alignment and chassis geometry.
• Completing ADAS and post-repair diagnostic procedures.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience as a Vehicle Mechanic, Technician, Diagnostic Technician or Master Technician.
• IMI Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with modern diagnostic equipment.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.

Salary: £23-26 p/hr (OTE)
Contractual Hours: 42.5 hrs per week
Attended Hours: Monday-Friday, 07:30-16:30
