Job summary

RAC is seeking a Vehicle Inspector in Manchester to inspect vehicles, complete reports, and support daily site inspections. You will work Mon–Fri with a 1 in 4 weekend rotation, ensuring high‑quality service and accurate documentation for customer vehicles.

Ideal candidates have an NVQ Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance, strong mechanical knowledge, and a full UK driving licence. The role offers a competitive salary with potential bonuses and a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification or equivalent is required.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Understanding of diagnostics, software updates, and EV/hybrid vehicles is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact at all levels.

Shifts - Mon to Fri with 1 in 4 weekends 8am - 5:30pm

As a Vehicle Inspector, you'll be responsible for:

• Conducting vehicle inspections following established procedures, reporting findings via a PDA report template
• Complete used vehicle condition reports
• Collaborate with team members to maintain daily site inspections
• Engage with customer contacts to ensure high quality service delivery

What We’re Looking For

To excel in this role, you must have:

• An NVQ Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
• Comprehensive mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
• An understanding of vehicle diagnostics, software updates, and electric/hybrid vehicles (advantageous)
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels
• A full UK driving licence
