Job summary

RAC is seeking a Vehicle Inspector in the Manchester area to conduct inspections, complete condition reports, and work with colleagues to ensure daily site inspections run smoothly.

The role requires an NVQ Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance or equivalent, strong mechanical knowledge, familiarity with diagnostics and an active UK driving licence. A full-time shift pattern is provided with weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
• Comprehensive mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Understanding of vehicle diagnostics, software updates, and electric/hybrid vehicles (advantageous).
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Conducting vehicle inspections following established procedures, reporting findings via a PDA report template.
• Complete used vehicle condition reports.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain daily site inspections.
• Engage with customer contacts to ensure high quality service delivery.
