Job summary

Mane Contract Services is recruiting for a Workshop / Vehicle Development Technician to support tractor development and testing for a leading agricultural vehicle manufacturer based in Basildon.

You will prepare, modify and maintain development tractors, remove and modify driveline components, and support testing activities while ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a workshop or vehicle technician.
• Experience with driveline, transmission or powertrain systems.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and document results.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
• Good spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, modify and maintain development tractors
• Remove, install and modify driveline and powertrain components
• Support vehicle testing and engineering activities
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults
• Complete technical reports and document test results
• Work closely with test engineers while following health & safety procedures

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical fitting or vehicle technician experience
• Experience with driveline, transmission or powertrain systems
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to read technical documentation and complete reports
• Full UK driving licence
• Right to work in the UK
• Good level of spoken and written English
• Agricultural, commercial vehicle, HGV, construction equipment or off-highway machinery experience
• CANalyzer/CANcase or vehicle instrumentation experience

Hours:

• Monday–Thursday: 07:00–16:00
• Friday: 07:00–12:00
• Overtime and Saturday work available depending on workload.
