Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience as Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator in an accident repair or bodyshop environment.
  • Ability to produce clear, detailed reports with photographic evidence.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Audatex experience is beneficial/required for the role.

  • Conduct detailed inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of damage.
  • Document vehicle conditions accurately using reports and photographs.
  • Evaluate repair estimates and determine necessary repairs.
  • Review estimates for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify additional damages requiring attention.
  • Ensure assessments comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Recommend repair strategies focused on cost efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections and communications.
  • Stay current with repair techniques, policies, and regulations.
  • Assist in post-repair inspections to verify quality.
  • Support the claims process and negotiations as required.
  • Use Audatex and other tools to complete assessments.
  • Manage workload to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Liaise with parts department to support accurate repair planning.

Our client, a reputable large accident repair group in Sunderland, is seeking an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor / Estimator to join their busy on‑site bodyshop team. This is an opportunity to contribute to a well-established accident repair operation, delivering accurate valuations and detailed documentation for customer, insurer, and repair workflow.

  • Ability to produce clear, detailed reports and capture accurate photographic evidence
  • Effective communication skills for customers, insurers, and internal teams
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and the ability to meet deadlines
