Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking a skilled Vehicle Damage Assessor / Estimator in Sittingbourne to accurately assess accident-damaged vehicles and generate detailed repair estimates for efficient workflow.

You'll join a professional bodyshop environment, with a Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm schedule, a base salary of £40,000–£45,000 plus DOE, and an OTE potential of £50,000 as you deliver precise estimates and liaise with customers and insurers.

Qualifications

• Experience as Vehicle Damage Assessor / VDA / Bodyshop Estimator in an accident repair environment.
• ATA / IMI accreditation in Vehicle Damage Assessment or equivalent.
• Proficiency with estimating systems such as Audatex / GT Global or similar.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting damaged vehicles and accurately assessing the extent of repair required.
• Producing detailed and accurate repair estimates using appropriate estimating systems.
• Identifying required parts, labour operations, repair methods, and associated costs.
• Ensuring estimates are accurate, commercially viable, and aligned with manufacturer and industry standards.
• Liaising with customers, insurers, engineers, and bodyshop colleagues throughout the repair process.
• Maintaining accurate records and updating repair information on relevant systems.
• Supporting the bodyshop team in maintaining efficient vehicle workflow and agreed repair timescales.
• Ensuring all damage assessments and estimates are completed accurately and professionally.

THE ROLE

As a Vehicle Damage Assessor / VDA / Bodyshop Estimator, you'll be responsible for assessing accident-damaged vehicles and producing accurate repair estimates to ensure repairs are planned efficiently and completed to the required standard.

ABOUT YOU

This opportunity would suit an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor / VDA / Bodyshop Estimator / Vehicle Estimator with strong technical knowledge and excellent attention to detail.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor, VDA, Bodyshop Estimator, or Vehicle Estimator within an accident repair environment.
• ATA / IMI accreditation in Vehicle Damage Assessment or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of modern vehicle repair methods, construction, and damage assessment.
• Proficiency with estimating systems such as Audatex / GT Global or similar.
• Strong IT and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to accurately assess damage and produce commercially accurate repair estimates.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with customers, insurers, and workshop teams.
