Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking an experienced VDA/Estimator in Stafford to assess accident-damaged vehicles and produce accurate estimates. You will work closely with customers, insurers and the workshop team to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

The role requires strong knowledge of panel, MET and paint repair processes, plus experience with estimating software and good communication skills. A full UK driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a VDA, Vehicle Damage Assessor or Estimator in automotive accident repair.
  • Strong knowledge of Panel, MET and Paint repair processes.
  • Experience in assessing accident damage and producing accurate repair estimates.
  • Knowledge of vehicle construction and modern repair methods.
  • Proficiency with estimating systems and industry software.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail with a methodical approach.
  • Commercial awareness and good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in a busy bodyshop environment.
  • IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess accident-damaged vehicles and identify repairs.
  • Prepare detailed repair estimates using estimating systems.
  • Determine repair methods, labour requirements and parts.
  • Identify additional damage and prepare supplements.
  • Liaise with customers, insurers and stakeholders throughout repair process.
  • Work with Panel, MET and Paint Technicians to reflect repairs in estimates.
  • Monitor vehicle repair progress and communicate changes.
  • Ensure estimates comply with manufacturer methods, quality standards and Health & Safety.

EXPERIENCED VDA / ESTIMATOR

Salary: Up to £45,000 Depending on Experience

Hours: Monday - Friday - 08:30 - 17:00

THE ROLE

As an Experienced VDA / Estimator, you will be responsible for assessing accident-damaged vehicles, identifying the required repairs and producing accurate estimates to ensure vehicles can be repaired efficiently and correctly.

You’ll work closely with customers, insurers, technicians and the wider bodyshop team, ensuring repair methods, estimates and vehicle progression are managed effectively from initial assessment through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess accident-damaged vehicles and accurately identify the extent of repairs required
  • Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using appropriate estimating systems
  • Determine suitable repair methods, labour requirements and replacement parts
  • Identify additional damage and prepare supplements where required
  • Liaise professionally with customers, insurers and other stakeholders throughout the repair process
  • Work closely with Panel, MET and Paint Technicians to ensure estimates accurately reflect the required repairs
  • Monitor vehicle repair progress and communicate any changes or additional requirements
  • Ensure estimates and repair processes comply with manufacturer methods, quality standards and Health & Safety requirements
ABOUT YOU

  • Proven experience as a VDA, Vehicle Damage Assessor or Estimator within an automotive accident repair environment
