Job summary

Perfect Placement is seeking a skilled Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator for our Fareham, Hampshire centre. This full-time role offers a competitive salary (£37,000) with a bonus scheme and OTE up to £50,000, within a multi‑manufacturer approved repair centre known for quality service.

The successful candidate will assess damage, prepare manufacturer-compliant estimates, and coordinate with customers, technicians and insurers to control costs and timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience as Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator in a busy accident repair environment.
• ATA qualification as VDA or equivalent.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with estimating systems such as Audatex and PAS 125 standards.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess vehicle damage and generate repair estimates per manufacturer standards.
• Communicate with customers, technicians and insurers to negotiate repair costs.
• Manage supplementary authorisations for parts and labour.
• Generate repair orders and PAS documents, oversee repair progress.

Duties of a Vehicle Damage Assessor:

• Accurately assess vehicle damage and generate detailed repair estimates compliant with manufacturer standards
• Communicate effectively with customers, technicians, and insurance providers to negotiate repair costs
• Control supplementary authorisation processes, including parts and labour approval
• Generate repair orders, PAS documents, and oversee repair procedures from commencement to completion
• Maintain precise customer and vehicle records within the management system
• Verify estimates, ensure quality control, and conduct comprehensive inspections for safety and standard compliance
• Assist in controlling repair timelines and manage additional authorisations as necessary
• Ensure all documentation is accurately recorded and transferred to relevant departments

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor / Estimator within a busy accident repair environment
• ATA qualification as a Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) or equivalent
• Solid understanding of vehicle construction, safety features, and repair methodologies
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
• Proficiency with estimating systems such as Audatex and adherence to PAS 125 standards
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a team setting
• Full UK driving licence
