Oxygen House Kitchen, Exeter, is seeking a skilled Prep Cook on a six-month fixed-term contract to join our vegetable-led kitchen serving the Oxygen House community. You will prepare vegetables, grains and sauces, help with breakfast and lunch services, and support the Five Bells Sunday service once a month, ensuring high-quality, sustainable meals produced daily.

Formación

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen.
• Confident, safe and efficient knife skills.
• Good understanding of kitchen hygiene, food safety and allergen management.
• Reliable, organised and able to stay calm under pressure.
• Communicates well and works as part of a team.
• Enthusiastic about vegetable-led cooking and sustainability.
• Available to work the required shift pattern, including one Sunday per month.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare vegetables, grains, pulses, sauces and other ingredients to set standards.
• Assist with breakfast, lunch and other services, following recipes and specifications.
• Support Sunday lunch service at the Five Bells once per month.
• Follow daily prep lists and production plans, flag shortages or issues.
• Follow food safety procedures including allergen management and temperature monitoring.
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient section.
• Receive, check and store deliveries.
• Minimise food waste through careful preparation and stock rotation.
• Collaborate with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams.
• Support senior kitchen team with other duties as required.
