Job summary

Voluntary Action South West Surrey is seeking a VCSE Development Officer to build strong relationships with local organisations, helping them to develop capacity, resilience and sustainability. You will provide practical advice on funding, governance, volunteering, policies, organisational development and sustainability; and help groups access training, networks and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience of partnership working and developing strong networks.
• Experience of providing funding advice and applying for funding would be an advantage.
• Ability to listen, learn and find practical, creative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical advice to charities and voluntary organisations on funding, governance, volunteering, policies, organisational development and sustainability.
• Proactively engage with local organisations to understand support needs.
• Help organisations access relevant resources, training, networks and opportunities.
• Help organisations develop projects in response to community needs.
• Build relationships and collaborate with VCSE organisations, statutory partners and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate and facilitate local network meetings across Guildford and Waverley.
• Encourage networking, partnership working and sharing of knowledge and good practice.
• Contribute to communications including newsletters, e-bulletins, social media and website.
• Help understand and represent issues facing the local VCSE sector.
