Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking a Community Safety Programme Coordinator to lead and coordinate local authority and partnership projects relating to Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and broader community safety priorities.

You will design and monitor grant funded interventions, conduct in-depth research on fast-changing issues, identify training needs and deliver high-quality resources to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level, or equivalent qualification or extensive relevant experience.
• Knowledge of the violence against women and girls agenda and legislation.
• Experience of managing and/or monitoring complex initiatives and projects.
• Sound and accurate IT knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate local authority and partnership projects relating to VAWG and wider community safety priorities.
• Support design and monitoring of grant funded interventions and projects.
• Undertake in-depth research on complex and fast-changing issues and identify training needs.
• Design and deliver high-quality training resources to diverse audiences and formats.
• Undertake evaluation work and build partner and public understanding of local risks in relation to VAWG and other community safety issues.
• Keep abreast of emerging policy and legislation and design/run projects and information campaigns in collaboration with colleagues and agencies.
• Coordinate activity across the team and wider county, supporting geographically located staff.
