You will work closely with the Real Estate VAT Director and Partner to support clients on a wide range of Real Estate and construction matters. One day you could be advising an investor on a multi-million pound property acquisition, and the next day delivering training to finance and commercial teams at a housebuilder client. No two days are the same!

Responsibilities:

1. Manging client relationships and acting as the principal point of contact for clients regarding VAT issues and queries.
2. Providing practical and commercial VAT advice to clients on land and property matters.
3. Collaborating with wider Real Estate tax specialists to contribute VAT input into tax structuring and due diligence projects.
4. Developing junior team members through delegation, coaching, and feedback.
5. Assisting in business development activities alongside the Real Estate VAT Director and Partner, including proposal preparation and relationship building with clients and targets.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience at Manager or Associate Director level within VAT, with a track record of winning work or unlocking fees from existing clients. You should be confident in developing junior staff and fostering a positive team environment. Key qualities include:

• CTA qualification or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience operating at Associate Director level or demonstrating the necessary skills for the role.
• Strong knowledge of VAT issues in the Real Estate and Construction sectors, either in a specialist capacity or as part of a broader role.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a national team.
• Proven client relationship management skills.
• Strong coaching abilities and an inclusive approach to development and supervision.
• Business development experience or interest is advantageous but not essential.
