Job summary

South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Trust Doctor in Vascular Surgery (SpR equivalent) at Sunderland Royal Hospital. The post offers exposure to open and endovascular procedures, with a 1:6 non-resident on-call and regular theatre opportunities in our vascular service.

Ideal for junior trainees pursuing higher surgical training or CESR, with opportunities for audit, research and teaching, and active involvement in MDTs and governance.

Qualifications

• Essential GMC registration and MRCS or equivalent.
• Experience in vascular surgery at ST3+ level or equivalent.
• Good history and examination skills; able to formulate a working diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• Lead ward rounds and manage inpatients within competence.
• Prepare patients for theatre and postoperative care.
• Assist in theatre and postoperative care and undertake selected procedures.
