Qualifications

• IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• 1–2 years' hands-on experience as a Vehicle Technician.
• Own tools suitable for light commercial repairs.
• Valid UK driving licence with minimal points.
• MOT Smart Card advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, service, maintain, and repair light commercial vehicles (vans).
• Work to franchise standards ensuring safety, reliability, and performance.
• Identify faults and report findings to the Service Manager.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and quality procedures.
• Maintain high workmanship standards in a busy workshop.
• Support team objectives to meet repair and service targets.
• Keep detailed records of work and parts used.
• Maintain tools and workspace to company standards.

Duties

• Conduct fault diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of light commercial vehicles, primarily vans
• Work within franchise standards to ensure vehicle safety, reliability, and performance
• Accurately identify faults and report findings to the Service Manager
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and quality procedures
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship in a busy workshop environment
• Support team objectives in meeting repair and service targets
• Keep detailed records of work carried out and parts used
• Maintain tools and work environment to company standards

Requirements

• Minimum IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• One to two years' practical experience as a Vehicle Technician preferred
• Own set of tools suitable for light commercial vehicle repairs
• Valid UK driving licence with minimal points
• Strong commitment to quality and teamwork
• Ability to produce high-quality workmanship under pressure
• MOT Smart Card advantageous but not essential
• Experience with van or light commercial vehicle repairs is beneficial but not a must
