Empire Partnership in London is seeking an experienced Mobile Lead Engineer to oversee a team of maintenance engineers across commercial properties. The role blends hands-on technical work with team leadership and client liaison.

You will coordinate daily activities, support engineers with technical challenges and ensure high-standard maintenance services across multiple sites within a fast-paced facilities management environment.

Competenze

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in commercial building services maintenance or Facilities Management.
• Experience supervising or leading a mobile or multi-site engineering team.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, pumps, motors, electrical distribution, lighting, heating and ventilation systems.
• Excellent fault-finding and technical problem-solving abilities.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Lead Engineer to oversee and support a team of maintenance engineers covering commercial properties across London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Mechanical or Electrical Engineer who has progressed into a supervisory position but still enjoys being hands-on.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for coordinating daily engineering activities, supporting engineers with technical issues, managing workloads and ensuring maintenance services are delivered to a high standard.

This position offers a varied workload, combining practical engineering duties with team leadership, client liaison and operational support.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong experience within commercial building services maintenance or Facilities Management.
• Previous experience supervising or leading a mobile or multi-site engineering team.
• Good all-round mechanical and electrical knowledge, including HVAC, pumps, motors, electrical distribution, lighting, heating and ventilation systems.
• Excellent fault-finding and technical problem-solving abilities.
• Good working knowledge of CAFM systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable Qualifications

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Electrical Inspection & Testing qualifications.
• F-Gas, HVAC, plumbing or BMS qualifications.
• IOSH Managing Safely or SSSTS.
• IPAF, PASMA or other relevant health and safety certifications.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced engineer who enjoys leading from the front rather than working solely in an office-based management position.

You will be confident supporting a team, dealing with technical challenges and ensuring maintenance standards are maintained across multiple sites.

This role would suit an experienced Mobile Supervisor, Lead Engineer, Senior Maintenance Engineer or Engineering Supervisor looking for their next opportunity within Facilities Management.
