Job summary

Blue Arrow is recruiting for a Courier/Delivery Driver in Newbury on temporary ongoing full-time hours. You will load and unload parcels from a 3.5T van, complete daily collections and deliveries within routes and times, and use handheld scanners to track parcels and obtain proof of delivery.

The role requires a full UK driving licence (usually held 12 months+), good geographical knowledge, strong customer service and the ability to work independently with good time management.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (normally held for at least 12 months).
• Good geographical knowledge and route-planning skills.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Physically fit due to regular lifting and loading duties.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading parcels from a 3.5T van at the depot.
• Completing daily collections and deliveries within allocated routes and timescales.
• Using handheld scanners to track parcel movements and obtain proof of delivery.
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and ensuring the van is roadworthy.
• Providing professional customer service when interacting with businesses and residential customers.
• Safely handling parcels, with some items weighing up to 25-30kg.
• Following company procedures and maintaining accurate delivery records.

Pay Rate

• Standard: £13ph (PAYE)
• Overtime: £19.50ph (PAYE)
