Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of a well-known distribution business in Coventry for van drivers. This 6-week temp-to-perm role offers a stable pathway to permanent employment for suitable candidates.

Working pattern is Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week, with shifts starting 08:00 on Mondays and 07:30 Tue-Fri; there is no weekend or bank holiday work. Training is provided and progression to a 7.5 tonne licence is available after demonstration of commitment.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence.
• Previous van driving or multi-drop delivery experience is desirable.
• Comfortable completing heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a two-person delivery team.
• Reliable, professional and committed approach to work.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a busy delivery schedule effectively.

Responsibilities

• Completing an average of approximately 45 delivery stops per shift.
• Delivering to a mixture of commercial and residential locations.
• Approximately 80% commercial and 20% residential deliveries.
• Completing both one-man and two-man deliveries.
• Delivering a wide variety of products, including coils, radiators, pipes and other goods.
• Heavy lifting and manual handling will be required as part of the role.
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, professionally and on time.
• Providing excellent customer service at all delivery locations.
• Completing all required vehicle checks and delivery paperwork.
• Full training will be provided.
