Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd is recruiting van drivers in Coventry for a 6-week temporary assignment with the potential to go permanent. The role involves delivering to commercial and residential sites with training provided and progression opportunities including a future 7.5 tonne licence.

Role based in Coventry (CV3). 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with no weekends or bank holidays. Pay rate is £12.71 per hour PAYE.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence.
• Van driving or multi-drop delivery experience desirable.
• Able to perform heavy lifting and manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Complete ~45 delivery stops per shift.
• Deliver to a mix of commercial and residential locations.
• Approximately 80% commercial and 20% residential deliveries.
• Perform one-man and two-man deliveries.
• Handle a variety of products, including coils, radiators, pipes and other goods.
• Carry out heavy lifting and manual handling as required.
• Ensure deliveries are completed safely, professionally and on time.
• Provide excellent customer service at all delivery locations.
• Carry out vehicle checks and complete delivery paperwork.
• Full training will be provided.

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-known and established distribution business based in Coventry. We are looking for multiple Van Drivers to join the team on a 6-week temp to perm basis for the right candidates.

This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking to secure a stable, long-term position with genuine opportunities for progression. Following successful completion of the 6-week temporary period, suitable candidates will have the opportunity to secure a permanent position with the client. Once established within the business and having demonstrated commitment and reliability, drivers will also have the opportunity to be upskilled and supported through their 7.5 tonne licence.

Hours & Shift Patterns

• Monday to Friday.
• 08:00 start on Mondays.
• 07:30 starts Tuesday to Friday.
• 45 hours per week.
• Finish times are approximately 17:30, depending on the completion of deliveries.
• No weekend working.
• No bank holiday working.

The Role

• Completing an average of approximately 45 delivery stops per shift.
• Delivering to a mixture of commercial and residential locations.
• Approximately 80% commercial and 20% residential deliveries.
• Completing both one-man and two-man deliveries.
• Delivering a wide variety of products, including coils, radiators, pipes and other goods.
• Heavy lifting and manual handling will be required as part of the role.
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, professionally and on time.

Requirements

• Valid UK driving license.
• Previous van driving or multi-drop delivery experience is desirable.
• Comfortable completing heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a two-person delivery team.
• Reliable, professional and committed approach to work.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a busy delivery schedule effectively.
