The Recruitment Crowd are seeking van drivers for a well-known distribution business based in Durham. Permanent positions from day one with a clear path to progression, including upskilling to a 7.5 tonne licence.

Starting salary £29,741.40 per annum as a 3.5 tonne van driver, with salary progression upon obtaining the 7.5 tonne licence. Training will be provided to support full delivery compliance and career development.

Responsibilities

• Completing an average of approximately 45 delivery stops per shift.
• Delivering to a mixture of commercial and residential locations (80% commercial, 20% residential).
• Carrying out both one-man and two-man deliveries.
• Delivering a wide variety of products, including coils, radiators, pipes and other goods.
• Carrying out heavy lifting and manual handling as part of the role.
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely, professionally and on time.

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-known and established distribution business based in Durham. We are looking for multiple Van Drivers to join the team on a permanent basis from day one.

Hours & Shift Patterns

• Monday to Friday.
• 08:00 start on Mondays.
• 07:30 starts Tuesday to Friday.
• 45 hours per week contracted.
• Finish times are approximately 17:30, depending on the completion of deliveries.
• No weekend working.
• No bank holiday working.

The Role

• Completing an average of approximately 45 delivery stops per shift.
• Delivering to a mixture of commercial and residential locations.
• Approximately 80% commercial and 20% residential deliveries.
• Completing both one-man and two-man deliveries.
• Delivering a wide variety of products, including coils, radiators, pipes and other goods.
• Heavy lifting and manual handling will be required as part of the role.
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, professionally and on time.
• Providing excellent customer service at all delivery locations.
• Completing all required vehicle checks and delivery paperwork.
• Full training will be provided.

Requirements

• Valid UK driving licence.
• Previous van driving or multi-drop delivery experience is desirable.
• Comfortable completing heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a two-person delivery team.
• Reliable, professional and committed approach to work.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a busy delivery schedule effectively.
