Job summary

Manpower UK is recruiting reliable and professional Van Drivers for a major UK logistics and distribution organisation in Southampton (SO18 2XX). The role offers various shifts with lates and nights on a 3.5t vehicle, with competitive hourly pay and ongoing temporary work.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate 3.5t vehicles on planned routes between mail centres, local businesses and customers.
• Deliver and collect mail and parcels efficiently, meeting delivery schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects as per procedures.
• Load and unload vehicles safely and secure goods.
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Work independently while communicating with the operations team.
• Follow all road transport legislation and safety policies.

What you'll be doing

• Safely operate 3.5t vehicleson planned routes between mail centres, local businesses and customers.
• The collections & delivery of mail & parcels efficiently while meeting delivery schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with company procedures.
• Load and unload vehicles safely while ensuring the security of all goods.
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Work independently while maintaining excellent communication with the wider operations team.
• Follow all road transport legislation, health and safety regulations and company policies.

What we're looking for

• Valid UK Cat B driving licence.
• No more than 6 penalty points and no serious driving endorsements.
• 1 years previous van driving experience within a logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong understanding of UK road transport legislation and vehicle safety.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
