Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of a well-known distribution business in Durham. We seek multiple Van Drivers for a 6-week temp-to-perm contract. The role includes delivering to commercial and residential locations, roughly 45 stops per shift, with deliveries split around 80% commercial and 20% residential.

Pay is £12.71 per hour PAYE. Hours are 08:00 start on Monday, 07:30 starts Tue–Fri, about 45 hours weekly with no weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence.
• Previous van driving or multi-drop delivery experience desirable.
• Able to lift heavy items and perform manual handling.
• Reliable, professional and committed towards work.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a busy delivery schedule effectively.

Responsibilities

• Complete an average of approximately 45 delivery stops per shift.
• Deliver to commercial and residential locations (roughly 80%/20%).
• Perform both one-man and two-man deliveries.
• Deliver a wide variety of products including coils and radiators.
• Heavy lifting and manual handling required; ensure safety and on-time delivery.
• Provide excellent customer service at all delivery locations.
• Carry out vehicle checks and complete delivery paperwork; full training provided.

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-known and established distribution business based in Durham. We are looking for multiple Van Drivers to join the team on a 6-week temp to perm basis for the right candidates.

This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking to secure a stable, long-term position with genuine opportunities for progression. Following successful completion of the 6-week temporary period, suitable candidates will have the opportunity to secure a permanent position with the client. Once established within the business and having demonstrated commitment and reliability, drivers will also have the opportunity to be upskilled and supported through their 7.5 tonne licence.

Job Type: 6 Week Temp to Perm for the Right Candidates

Pay Rate:

• £12.71 per hour PAYE

Hours & Shift Patterns:

• Monday to Friday
• 08:00 start on Mondays
• 07:30 starts Tuesday to Friday
• 45 hours per week
• Finish times are approximately 17:30, depending on the completion of deliveries
• No weekend working
• No bank holiday working

The Role:
